There was sunshine aplenty inside the Bay Center at lunch today as Billy Harrell did a little song-and-dance to Mashed Potato Time (its National Tater Day) and Ron Tuttle defined FAIL as First Attempt in Learning and NO as Next Opportunity. He cracked a couple of jokes, too.

They were a great warm-up act for our speaker, Pensacola State College President Dr. Ed Meadows, who gave us a super sunny State-of-the College report. Learn more at https://www.pensacolastate.edu/

Last year Rotary Youth Camp of North Florida provided over 100 children with disabilities a week-long summer camp experience, uniquely tailored to each childs needs, AT NO COST to the children or their families.

The stories that Executive Director Joyce Dove told at lunch today tugged at our hearts as our club presented her with a $1,500 check toward this summers program. Over 60% of the funding comes from Rotary Clubs in North Florida, with the remainder from businesses, foundations, and individual donors.

March 30th is the deadline for step one of the application process. Learn more at https://www.rycnf.org/applications-forms

Thank you, Joyce, for visiting us today!Image attachmentImage attachment+1Image attachment

Col. Shane Seamus Muscato describes Pensacola as a Navy town with an Air Force footprint--and awesome.

The Commander of the 479th Flying Training Group at Naval Air Station Pensacola gave us a detailed look at the 479th, which includes four squadrons with over 700 personnel and trains over 200 Combat Systems Officers each year for the U.S. Air Force, Air Force Reserve Command and Air National Guard. The Group also supports over 1,500 Air Force personnel in our area. The Mission: Develop Americas airmen today...for tomorrow.

Thank you for your immensely informative presentation!

Lots of member photos today! Anyone wearing anything resembling green got the spotlight.Image attachmentImage attachment+Image attachment

Col. Shane Muscato will join us Monday to talk about the U. S. Air Force and the 479th Flying Training Group, which he commands.

In honor of St. Patricks Day, we will be raffling off a $100 gift card to McGuires; raffle tickets will be $5. Thanks to Alicia Christy for arranging this. And we will be back for lunch at the Bay Center.

Did you know? Wearing green on St. Pattys Day makes you invisible to leprechauns, and leprechauns like to pinch!
